Why do people practice different religion? Why do people switch/change
their religion? Why do they discriminate other’s religion? People say “My
religion is better than others.” Is it really true? These are some of the
questions which always come in my mind and I feel that everyone should try to
find answer for these.
The ultimate aim of every religion is the peace and liberation. I do not
think, in any religious scripture, there is anything written about one’s
religion being better than other’s or anything about discrimination for
religion. Does any learned good religion practitioner preach these things to
their disciple? I do not think so. If there are some… they have a political
motive or some harmful motive. It is we, the ordinary human, who has a very
little knowledge about our own religion and start being arrogant and
discriminate other’s faith.
Religion should have been the factor which units the whole world, however,
the reality is just becoming the opposite. The world has been shattered into
fragments in the name of religion. It is now time for everyone to realize the
truth. The truth is that every religion is equivalent. The founder of the
religion and the highly learned religion master conveys the same but it is we
the ordinary human who understands just the half truth. We are not able to
understand the full truth about religion because we are covered with sin. Though
we say we are practicing one religion, we are still with arrogance, ego and selfishness
within us, which obstructs us from realizing the truth of universe. How can one
achieve liberation, if one cannot contribute to the worldly peace and do not
have a heart of love and equality for others.
People who always chant prayers will not lead to liberation unless they
have a pure heart. People who donate thousands will not lead to liberation until
they become compassionate within. And people who practice their religion to the
best will not gifted liberation unless they have the equal value for other’s
faith. Therefore, let us all value every religion as one and respect others
faith too. The Golden Rule of all the religion also says the same meaning in
different words.
